Inclusion at Otis
Inclusion at Otis
“At Otis, we are committed to fostering an inclusive culture where our colleagues feel welcome and heard, allowing them to develop and grow, perform at their best, and contribute to our business success.”
— Judy Marks
Chair, Chief Executive Officer and President
We seek others’ ideas, encourage innovation and empower our colleagues through learning and development experiences that are aligned with our business strategy and contribute to our broader success. We interact meaningfully in the communities we serve through supporting opportunities for STEM learning, volunteering, and charitable giving.

Communities
Interacting and investing to support more vibrant communities and inspire the next generation of talent critical to our success.
Commitment
Driving value for our colleagues, customers, and shareholders.
We understand that building an inclusive workplace drives greater engagement and is linked to stronger business performance, which in turn benefits our customers and helps us provide greater returns for our shareholders.
In 2020, shortly after becoming an independent company, we announced ‘Our Commitment to Change', a six-point framework designed to help shape our culture of inclusion. Since that time, this framework has transitioned from a series of independent initiatives to integral parts of our overall strategy and long-term business goals.
In 2021, we established 13 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Integral to setting our vision in motion and intertwined with our guiding principles — the Otis Absolutes — and our business strategy, we’re focused on the right objectives to drive value for all stakeholders in support of a more sustainable future.

Employee resource groups
Open to all colleagues, our employee resource groups (ERGs) work to develop innovative ideas and business proposals to support the execution of our business strategy and contribute to our success. Through their participation in ERGs, Otis colleagues have opportunities for personal and professional growth while fostering a sense of belonging.
“Being part of the FORWARD ERG has given me the tools and connections to grow both professionally and personally. It has broadened my view of the performance of women mechanics in the field and the challenges they face. The shared knowledge and support from my peers contribute to winning and retaining business, reducing problem resolution time and improving the overall experience for customers.”
— William
Co-chair (Latin America), FORWARD
The FORWARD ERG promotes the recruitment, retention, and advancement of colleagues within our field operations, with a particular focus on women identifying colleagues through mentoring, professional development, and networking.
“Being part of this ERG has strengthened my skills and inspired me to collaborate with other teams. WIT leaders and my mentors have always
encouraged me, empowered me, and supported our activities in Japan. Through our events we gain new perspectives on how important inclusion is for driving innovation across our business.”
— Natsuki
Community Pillar Lead (Japan), WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY
WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY is a global, cross-functional and allied ERG that connects the creative, innovative, and energetic colleagues in the STEM field at Otis to help build a culture of inclusivity and respect for women and gender minorities.
“Nobody at Otis stands on their own, we all had some help to get where we are. Engaging with the NEW TALENT NETWORK has helped me succeed by connecting me with a diverse range of colleagues from which to build my professional network. Now, I find it rewarding to give back to the next generation of Otis talent, eager to grow and contribute toward Otis’ success. They need someone to support them, to lift them up, and the NEW TALENT NETWORK is the answer.”
— Matt
Culture Pillar Lead, NEW TALENT NETWORK
The NEW TALENT NETWORK ERG aims to create a seamless transition for colleagues new to Otis by offering an improved onboarding experience, increased networking, continued career development, and community involvement.

We partner with universities and non-profit organizations and use our ERGs to broaden our hiring pool and help identify qualified candidates. And we offer apprentice programs, across all regions, to attract and develop the workforce of tomorrow.
“We position ourselves to attract, develop, and retain the best talent. We also aim to foster an environment where our talent — once hired — want to stay to build a career. We seek others’ ideas, encourage innovation, and empower our colleagues through learning and development experiences that are aligned with our business strategy and contribute to our broader success.”

Our commitment to allocating a minimum spend of 20% to diverse U.S. suppliers — defined as at least 51% owned and controlled by an individual or group that is underrepresented (e.g. veteran, women, disability-owned) and/or operating in an economically disadvantaged location — helps to ensure a competitive, reliable, and resilient supplier pipeline. This is fundamental to our future success.
